Couple rescued from flooded car

Thursday, August 30th, 2012 Auto

A Hampton couple carried away in a flash flood counted their blessings after a Good Samaritan saved them from a sinking vehicle during Tuesday’s storm. A young woman was at the scene of the flooded vehicle in a ditch close to Mallory Elementary School, taking pictures as well as filming the scene. On her video, she is heard saying, ’Oh my God, y’all, there is a car right there and I don’t know if there’s anybody in it.’ Deborah and James Pearson were scrambling inside of the vehicle. They told WAVY.com their car took a nose-dive into the ditch and the car started flooding. The couple could not open the doors of the car to get out.
