Crash sends boat sailing across Hwy 101

A 26-foot boat sailed across Highway 101 on Saturday when the trailer it was on broke apart, police said. The crash happened as a Ford SUV towed the trailer and boat north along Highway 101. The trailer started swaying side to side before it broke apart, causing the SUV to spin in a circle. The boat came free of the trailer and slid across the southbound lanes of Highway 101, coming to rest blocking the entrance of the Agate Beach Best Western Motel.
