Friday, March 13th, 2009 — New data from the Ohio Insurance Institute peg losses caused by last month’s wind and ice storm at nearly $90 million in the state, a far cry from the damage in Ohio wrought by remnants of Hurricane Ike last September. The institute said estimates from 22 companies indicate damages likely exceeded $88.9 million in the wake of winds that blew into the region Feb. 11, some clocked at 70 mph.
