Deer Collision Critically Injures Michigan Driver

A woman sustained life-threatening injuries after a car crash involving a deer in rural Kent County. The crash happened around 9 a.m. Tuesday on Algoma Avenue NE south of 15 Mile Road in Algoma Township, southwest of Cedar Springs, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say a deer ran into the path of a northbound vehicle and was struck. The collision threw the deer into the windshield of a southbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a Kent City woman, was rushed to a Grand Rapids hospital with life-threatening injuries. The southbound driver was the only person hurt.
