One person died when the wheel of a trailer detached and crashed through a cars windshield Tuesday morning in West Dallas. A 23-year-old man was driving a 2005 white Chevy truck towing a trailer southbound in the 10000 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard, near Singleton Boulevard, about 9:20 a.m., police spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez said in an email. The right wheel of the trailer became detached and bounced across the median into the windshield of a 2015 Chevy Malibu traveling north. The wheel caused blunt-force trauma to the driver, who died at the scene.
