Distracted Driving Persists In Delaware

Tuesday, November 10th, 2015 Auto Liability

A silver Mazda sat upside down in Elsmere last Monday, its roof flat against the concrete of Faulkland Road. Another car, this one a silver Acura and parked, had all four tires touching the ground, but the rear driver-side wheel was nearly detached. New Castle County Police cited the 32-year-old driver of the Mazda for using her hand-held cellphone just prior to the crash, among other infractions. She was taken to the hospital after the collision with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver is not unique. Cellphones probably distract at least one-third of Delaware motorists.
