Distracted Driving Persists In Delaware
Tuesday, November 10th, 2015 Auto LiabilityA silver Mazda sat upside down in Elsmere last Monday, its roof flat against the concrete of Faulkland Road. Another car, this one a silver Acura and parked, had all four tires touching the ground, but the rear driver-side wheel was nearly detached. New Castle County Police cited the 32-year-old driver of the Mazda for using her hand-held cellphone just prior to the crash, among other infractions. She was taken to the hospital after the collision with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver is not unique. Cellphones probably distract at least one-third of Delaware motorists.
