Dozing Driver Crashes Into Philadelphia Fire Station

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015 Auto Liability

A driver is recovering after crashing through the front of a fire station in Philadelphia’s Wissinoming section and damaging a brand new ambulance. It happened after 2:00 a.m. Friday on Van Kirk Street near Harbison Avenue. "One fellow was just on the other side of that glass wall," Battalion Chief Charles Lepre told Action News. "He was alerted to the noise when a car coming up Harbison Avenue pulled right through and crashed through the doors and hit our medic unit." Police say it appears the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
