E-Mediation

The Internet continues to offer accelerated methods to handle business. Each day’s lightning strikes from Cyberspace flash before us to reveal new twists for performing every sort of personal or business transaction. Though the insurance industry is frequently identified as being Internet impaired, there is one area in which it is in the forefront, online mediation. Mediation traditionally consists of two parties discussing their dispute with a mediator. The mediator is a disinterested party who carefully listens to each side. First the parties speak in each other’s presence and later, the mediator conducts separate discussions and helps the two parties resolve their argument. Today, several companies offer the Internet as a method to end disputes over the value of a claim.
