A hurricane specialist from the National Hurricane Center warned emergency officials Monday that conditions are ripe this year for another busy hurricane season. Warm sea surface temperatures combined with a weak El Nino are providing the right ingredients for a very active year. Although the specialist said that having four major hurricanes strike the country as they did last season is highly unlikely, he did warn that it would not be out of the question to see more powerful and intense hurricanes over the next 20 years.
