Family pig saves woman, grandchildren from trailer fire

The Mt. Carmel Fire Department responded to an early morning trailer fire at 11516 E. 920 Lane in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Fire officials say flames were showing from the side of the trailer when they arrived around 4:40 a.m. Sunday morning. A Mount Carmel family is counting their blessings after their pet saved their lives.
The homeowner told crews she and her grand kids were awakened by their family pig named ’Lucky’, and escaped through a bedroom window. The Farler family has had him since February.
