FC&S: 'Tough Exclusions' In CGL Policy
Monday, January 29th, 2001 PropertyA number of National Underwriter readers have responded to this series on tough claims under the CGL coverage form. It’s gratifying to see such a high level of interest in the fine points of insurance policy interpretation. In this, the third in a series of columns based on the FC&S editors’ presentation at last fall’s Claims magazine ACE Conference, we’ll take up a few contractual liability questions. Some readers have asked, so I’ll recap what we’ve done in this series so far. In the first column ("Tackling the Toughest CGL Policy Exclusions," NU, Oct. 30, 2000), we set the scene and posed some questions—we were off to the ACE Conference with a bagful of problem claims. In the next ("FC&S Roadshow Tackles CGL Exclusions," NU, Nov. 27, 2000), I covered the damage to property exclusion (exclusion j.).
