FEMA: No Doesn’t Mean No

FEMA has been doing its best when it comes to helping Arkansans recover from the March 31 tornado.

Individuals who have been told no for any financial assistance does not exactly mean that they will receive no help.

FEMA’s Tom Kempton said if you got denied for assistance, that does not mean a definite no; there could have been an issue with missing documents, or the insurance company has not accepted their damage because they are behind.

Eligibility letters: FEMA will send a letter to you after you apply, and it will explain the status of your application.

"This letter explains the types of assistance FEMA has determined you are eligible to receive, the amount of assistance FEMA is providing for each eligible need, the reason an applicant would be ineligible for specific types of assistance and an explanation of the appeals process," said FEMA.
