Fire in apartment building leaves 50 people without homes in Alaska

A fire at an apartment building has left more than 50 Fairbanks residents without homes, and fire officials were trying to account for the occupants of two apartments hours after the fire started Wednesday. Assistant Fire Chief Ernie Misewicz tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that as 10 a.m. Wednesday, there were still attempting to account for occupants of two of the apartments on the second-floor of a building on Geraghty Street.
