Three people were arrested and charged with staging a traffic accident to obtain insurance money, according to the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud. West Palm Beach Police said around 10:30 p.m. on May 5, 2010 there was a two-car crash in the vicinity of Roseland Drive and Lake Avenue. According to police, Jose Begas made a claim for personal injury protection benefits with his insurance company. Officers said that Begas's claim with Progressive Insurance Company was denied because his policy had lapsed at the time of the crash.
