Georgia Interstate Shut Down By Crash Involving Three Semis

Monday, April 3rd, 2017 Excess & Surplus Lines

All lanes of eastbound I-20 in Carroll County near exit 19 were closed at midday Friday after an early-morning crash involving three tractor-trailers, according to the Georgia State Patrol. One of the trucks was carrying motor oil and liquid fertilizer, which spilled onto the freeway, GSP spokeswoman Tracey Watson said. About 2 a.m., an eastbound tractor-trailer ran off the right shoulder for an unknown reason, Watson said. The driver overcorrected and re-entered the roadway, and the truck then overturned onto its side. Two eastbound tractor-trailers hit the trailer of the first truck, causing it to lose its load, according to the GSP.
