Traffic accidents resulting from black ice totaled at least 36 over a 16-hour stretch ending Saturday afternoon as rain froze on Reno-area roads, authorities said. “The majority of accidents were on Interstate 395 between the Mount Rose (Highway) junction and south of the Spaghetti Bowl,” Sgt. Frank Hernandez of the Nevada Highway Patrol said. Interstate 580 was closed for two hours Friday night between South Virginia Street and Mount Rose Highway. One crash in that area at the time may have involved up to 15 vehicles, Hernandez said.
