The House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to extend the federal government's post-9/11 terrorism risk insurance program for seven years, but did not expand it as much as many big-city lawmakers, insurers and property developers had wanted. With less than two weeks left before the 2002 Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) expires, the House, in a 360-53 vote, bowed to pressure from the Senate and the White House for a narrow renewal that will go next to President George W. Bush.
