Hoverboard Explodes Inside South Carolina Home

Monday, January 4th, 2016 Property Subrogation

Mauldin firefighters said a hoverboard exploded inside a home in the Plantation Greene neighborhood. Lt. Christopher Walker with the Mauldin Fire Department said the explosion affected a 25-foot area in the home and caught furniture and a portion of the carpet on fire. A problem with the device’s batteries is believed to have caused the blast. “There were charred pieces of battery on the floor melted,” Walker said. Walker said the $200 Christmas toy could have destroyed the family’s home.
