Insurance Claims Filed for Damaged Wheat Crop

Crop insurance claims have begun rolling in at Farm Credit Services of Mandan and agents think there could be more than usual. “This morning there were a few with the frost,” said Carla Tausend, insurance coordinator for Farm Credit Services. “They’ve been coming in for a couple weeks.” A snowy April and wet May delayed planting, even preventing it in some cases. Now wet, cool weather continues to delay harvest and crop quality is becoming an issue.
