IRC Estimates More Than 14 Percent Of Drivers Are Uninsured

A recent study performed by the Insurance Research Council states that across the United States, if someone is injured in an auto accident, the chances are about one in seven that the at-fault driver is uninsured. The five states with the highest uninsured driver estimates were Mississippi with 26 percent, Alabama at 25 percent, California at 25 percent, New Mexico at 24 percent, and Arizona with 22 percent. The five states with the lowest uninsured driver estimates were Maine at 4 percent, Vermont at 6 percent, Massachusetts at 6 percent, New York at 7 percent, and Nebraska with 8 percent.
