Judge rejects portion of Katrina insurance suit
Wednesday, August 15th, 2007 Catastrophe PropertyA federal judge in Mobile on Tuesday threw out part of a lawsuit against an insurance company, ruling that the owners of a bayfront house in Point Clear cannot be paid for the destruction of the home’s contents by Hurricane Katrina. But U.S. District Judge William Steele said he would allow the jury to decide whether Lexington Insurance Co. can be made to cover losses that the storm caused to the house itself.
