Los Angeles County Homes Slowly Destroyed by Landslide

Monday, July 10th, 2023 Property

A terrifying incident unfolded in Los Angeles County over the weekend as a major landslide caused the foundations of a dozen homes to shift, endangering the lives of residents and leaving the houses on the brink of collapse.

Late on Saturday night, the precarious state of the houses forced authorities to evacuate residents urgently. Immediate action was taken to protect the affected area’s power supply, with SoCal Edison shutting off the electricity and crews from the Southern California Gas Company called in to inspect gas lines and prevent any ruptures.

Residents began hearing concerning noises as early as Thursday, including cracking and popping sounds that signaled a distressing underlying issue. The damage unfortunately spread rapidly from one home to the next, leaving authorities with no choice but to evacuate all 12 houses in the affected area. By Sunday afternoon, the homes had been completely destroyed.

The aftermath of the landslide has prompted geologists to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the factors responsible for the destabilization of the homes in Los Angeles County.
