Man burned in leaf blower accident
Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 LiabilityA Springfield teen was severely burned after a spark from a lit cigarette ignited spilled gasoline from a leaf blower Monday. Springfield Fire Department Spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News firefighters were called to 47 Washburn Street just before 8 o’clock Monday night. Leger says 19-year old Javies Rivera had just filled a leaf blower with gasoline when a friend lit a cigarette. Rivera had spilled gas on his arms which then caught fire from a spark from the cigarette.
