Man Pinned Beneath Garbage Truck Following Collision

A man suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive after his garbage truck overturned and pinned him beneath it in a crash with a pickup at 2:10 p.m. today. The garbage truck was occupied by two workers and was traveling west in the 5400 block of Baxter Road when it collided with an eastbound silver Toyota Tundra. The garbage truck tipped during the collision, trapping the driver while the other worker suffered minor injuries. The pickup was left a twisted wreck and its driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police Deputy Chief Scott Meyers said.
