Police in Columbia, Tenn., said a surveillance video shows a man trying to run down a woman with his pickup truck, starting a series of disasters. The truck missed the woman, but Eric Whitaker plowed his truck into the Columbia Market on Hampshire Pike, colliding with the store owner and clerk Surendra Patel, WTVF-TV, Nashville, reported. The video shows Patel under the debris, but somehow getting out and walking away. Whitaker then ran from the store and stole a sports utility vehicle, police said. The SUV, which belonged to nurse Andrea Kreisel, then collided with a bread truck.
