Dave Parcells, an environmental specialist in the risk management department at Methodist Healthcare in Memphis, urged risk managers to make sure outside construction contractors have a firm grasp on how air and water promotes mold growth. He also suggested that any contracting work include efforts to reduce the likelihood of mold growth. "Make sure contractors know what is going on," he said. "Anytime youre dealing with fungus, make sure you have someone who knows what they're doing."
