Matthew Will Continue Soaking South
Friday, October 8th, 2004 Catastrophe PropertyThe remnants of Tropical Storm Matthew, which came ashore in Louisiana Sunday morning, will continue dumping heavy rain in the South into at least Tuesday. Forecasters expect the storm's remnants to move slowly to the north into the Tennessee Valley by Tuesday. Up to 12 inches of rain flooded streets and homes in southeastern Louisiana by Sunday, the National Weather Service said. No injuries were reported. A canal levee was breached in Terrebonne Parish, causing flooding in about a dozen homes, said Mart Black, spokesman for the parish's emergency operations center.
