Miami Attorney Involved In $1.5M PIP Fraud Scheme
Monday, July 25th, 2016 Fraud LiabilityChief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and the Department of Financial Services’ Division of Investigative and Forensic Services (DIFS) today announced the recent arrest of Miami attorney, Anett Lopez, 42, for her involvement in a personal injury protection (PIP) fraud scheme that accounted for nearly $1.5 million in financial loss. Lopez allegedly filed numerous lawsuits demanding payment for treatment of patients at Care Resources Group, LLC, a PIP clinic in Miami that fraudulently operated under a straw ownership.
