Wednesday, April 4th, 2007 Catastrophe Property

This year’s Atlantic hurricane season should be considerably more active than average, according to a forecast issued Tuesday by the Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University. The forecasters predict that 17 named storms will form in the Atlantic basin during this year’s hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. Nine of those will become hurricanes and five of those hurricanes will grow into major storms packing sustained winds of 111 mph or more, the forecasters said.
