Multi-Fatality Crash Results From Running A Stop Sign

Thursday, May 19th, 2016 Auto Liability

Authorities say the crash between a car and a garbage truck that killed four family members in Ohio occurred when the car failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled into the truck’s path. The State Highway Patrol’s Jackson post says the car was westbound on State Route 56 when it drove into the path of the truck that was southbound on State Route 93 near McArthur, about 55 miles southeast of Columbus. The truck didn’t have a stop sign. Troopers say the car’s driver, 55-year-old Lisa Foerster died along with her two children, 18-year-old Thomas Hamel and 19-year-old Emma Hamel, all of Athens.

The patrol investigation is continuing.
