Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 — With the wildfire that devoured woods and homes in Horry County now 98 percent contained, fire crews from around the state returned home Monday and a statewide burning ban was lifted, officials said. Insurance officials have surveyed the damage and estimated that claims related to the fire will top $25 million, according to the S.C. Insurance News Service.
