— The National Insurance Crime Bureau in Chicago is aiding the FBI's probe of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks by providing information from vast data banks maintained by member insurers, the NICB chief executive officer said.

The FBI, as part of its investigation into the terrorist network behind the attacks, has put out a list of more than 240 people that the bureau would like to contact and interview.

Mr. Bryant said the NICB is working with the organization's 1,000 member companies "with their data bases to provide information, if we in fact have it."

The FBI, he said, is looking for information to locate those on its lists, "and we are going to the companies and asking them to check policy information for these names."
