Motorists passing through the 200 block of McKean Avenue in Charleroi often catch sight of the menagerie of oversized animal statues in front Tims Secret Treasures and pull over to take photos. But at 3 a.m. Saturday morning, Charleroi Regional Police attempted to pull over a Dodge Ram hauling a 16-foot fiberglass rooster strapped in the bed of the truck. When the alleged driver, Brody Nichols, took off, a police chase ensued, ultimately causing the chicken to be damaged and Nichols facing charges. Nichols was not apprehended after fleeing from police that night.
