Claims from Rhode Island property owners covered by flood insurance could total $26.3 million for this spring's devastating floods, officials announced on Tuesday. That's half of all such claims filed in the past 30 years, when record-keeping began. The National Flood Insurance Program has received 1,608 claims from the flooding that began at the end of March.
