— A renewed Tropical Storm Irene was expected to gradually intensify Thursday as it moved closer to the east coast of the United States. Irene was expected to continue its route to the U.S. coastline over the next five days and will most likely hit the coastal areas from Georgia to Virginia. Experts warn however, that it is still too soon to tell what kind of threat the storm poses to land.
