Restoration and Repair Losses
Friday, April 26th, 2002 PropertyAsk anyone involved in either the insurance or restoration business, and they’ll tell you that both industries have changed dramatically over the past 30 years. Technology, government regulations, health standards, and client awareness have had a huge impact on the knowledge and skill required of professional restorers. In addition, technological advancements have made damage evaluation, documentation, and scope preparation far more sophisticated than the old pencil-and-paper technology, and have raised expectation levels. There are digital cameras to record the damage throughout a structure and transmit the images directly to the insurer, as well as software for tracking the progress of restoration jobs, and programs that enable adjusters and contractors to estimate the cost of damage repairs and personal property replacements.
