Tanker Catches On Fire While Refueling Gas Station

Our crew is on the scene of an explosion in Monticello on F E Sellers Highway. A Lawrence County deputy said that a diesel tank driver’s truck caught on fire while he was refueling gas from Old Duncan’s Store. Thankfully, nobody was there at the time, and the gas station was closed. The driver was taken to the hospital. We do not know the extent of his injuries at this time. Portions of FE Sellers Hwy are now blocked because of the fire. Lawrence County Undersheriff Bruce DeLaughter says they expect it will take hours to clear the scene.
