Highway 99 is the most dangerous roadway in America, according a new report released by ValuePenguin. From 2011 to 2015, Hwy. 99 saw 62.3 deadly crashes for every 100 miles, according to the consumer research company’s report. “California Route 99, despite being a relatively shorter highway, had the most fatal accidents per 100 miles of any highway in the nation,” ValuePenguin said in the report released last week. The deadliest city along the highway was Fresno with 34 deadly crashes over the past four years. The report also found that Hwy. 99 was the darkest highway in the U.S. and had a total of 108 deadly crashes that happened in the dark.
