An Albuquerque thief drove off with a church on wheels this weekend, taking tens of thousands in equipment and dozens of donated toys. New City Church is a portable church with a small office in northeast Albuquerque and a trailer they use to store everything needed for Sunday services. "Everything that would be in a typical church we have in a trailer," said Nate Bush, New City’s pastor. "Pipe and drape for setting up spaces on Sunday morning, sound equipment, speakers, cords, microphones, all that kind of thing." In total, there was about $40,000 worth of equipment in that trailer over the past holiday weekend as well as 40 to 50 donated toys the church was planning to use for an annual charity event it runs at an elementary school.
