Tornadoes touch down in Va., including quake epicenter

Friday, October 14th, 2011 Property

Two tornadoes touched down in Virginia this afternoon, the National Weather Service says, with one ripping off the roof off an 18th-century plantation house in Louisa County, the epicenter of the August earthquake that shook the Eastern Seaboard. No injuries have been reported. The Louisa County funnel cloud tore the roof off the historic Sylvania house, which dates to 1746, and damaged out-buildings about 3:45 p.m. ET, administrator Robert Dube told USA TODAY’s Donna Leinwand Leger. The house was already severely damaged by the magnitude-5.8 quake on Aug. 23
