A tour bus made an unexpected stop when it ran off the road and into a house on the city’s east side during the lunch hour Wednesday. The Grand Island Transit bus hit a home on East North Street shortly before 1 PM. According to City Engineer Don Poleto, the driver had just finished dropping off soldiers and equipment at the Masten Street Armory. He was in the back of the bus checking to see if anything had been left behind when the bus started to roll and hit the house. The driver was the only one on board at the time.
