Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 — Uber — the American company behind the controversial ride-sharing smartphone app — is looking at bringing its product to the Bridge City. “Saskatoon is a big market in Canada, a big market in the prairies just like Regina, and we want to be here,” said Chris Schafer, public policy manager for Uber’s Canadian branch. He gave a presentation about the company to city council’s transportation committee on Monday, after which councillors asked city administration to study what other cities are doing to regulate Uber and related ride-sharing technologies.
