Vandals cause $85,000 damage to two KC fountains
Friday, April 1st, 2011 Fraud PropertyAs Kansas City parks officials prepare for a new fountain season, theyre dealing with theft and damage to two of the citys most prominent fountains. Thieves have stolen $25,000 worth of lights from the JC Nichols Memorial Fountain on the Plaza and from the Womens Leadership Fountain at 9th Street and The Paseo. They also caused about $60,000 worth of damage to the concrete at the Womens Leadership Fountain, the citys oldest fountain, which was renovated in 2009.
