Early-morning thunderstorms came across northwest Florida on Tuesday morning, as if they were there to announce the arrival on Wednesday morning of the 2005 hurricane season. Since the active hurricane season will officially begin tomorrow morning and because there is a 30-day waiting period before new flood insurance policies become active, Americans are urged to take steps now to protect their property against tropical storm flooding.
