A woman drove her car across a lawn at Yachats State Park, nearly struck another car with a family of four inside, then drove full-speed off a cliff Saturday afternoon, deputies said. The car driven by 41-year-old Maya Thomas crashed onto the rocks and surf below the cliff. Thomas suffered serious injuries and paramedics took her to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis to be treated. Before the crash, Thomas reportedly assaulted her boyfriend and another female at the Underground Pub in Yachats, causing minor injuries to both of them, said a Lincoln County Sheriff’s spokesman.
