Work nears for local floodgates
Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 Auto Catastrophe PropertyFor the first time in more than a decade, crews are about to begin work on Terrebonne's first new floodgates. The floodgates will be built on Placid and Bush canals in lower Chauvin. Bids on the initial work were accepted this past week. Work on the 30-foot Placid Canal and 56-foot Bush Canal barge floodgates will cost $1.5 million and $2.1 million, respectively.
