An employee of a Brookfield swimming pool contractor suffered a severe leg injury when his leg was caught in an auger inside a mixing truck. Durham firefighters and a medical team specially trained to do amputations as part of rescues responded at about 1:40 p.m. to a home at 27 Deer Run Road. "When we arrived there was a man with his leg wrapped around the auger in the bottom of the cement bin," said Dave Greenbacker, assistant chief of the Durham Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters and the medical team were able to get the man, whose name was not released, out of the auger without amputating his leg.
