Friday, September 21st, 2001 Property

Zurich North America will not invoke "Act of War" exclusions on claims related to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in the United States, the company said today. "Be assured, our company has a solid capital base and remains financially and operationally strong," said John Amore, chief executive officer of the company, based in Schaumburg, Ill. "Working with our broker partners, we will meet the business challenges triggered by these attacks. Together, we will help each other and all our customers meet the challenges that lie ahead. As Americans, and as people in a service business, we should expect nothing less of ourselves." Zurich North America is a leading commercial property-casualty, health and accident insurance provider serving the multinational, middle-market and small-business sectors in the United States and Canada.
