The combination of smoke from area fires and patchy fog may lead to sudden reductions to visibility at times late this evening through early Saturday morning. This will especially be the case from northern Hyde County into far eastern Beaufort County, near and north of Highway 264, including areas in and around Pantego and Belhaven. If driving in this area tonight or early Saturday morning, please slow down and allow extra time for travel. Use low-beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between you and any vehicles in front of you.
