Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, Koochiching, North St. Louis, North
Itasca, Central St. Louis, North Cass, South Itasca, South
Cass, Crow Wing, Northern Aitkin, South Aitkin, Carlton and
South St. Louis and Pine Counties. In Wisconsin, Douglas,
Burnett and Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands
of the St. Croix Band in Burnett County, the Fond du Lac Band,
the Mille Lacs Band, Lena Lake, East Lake, Big Sandy Lake and,
Hinckley areas and the Bois Forte Band, Deer Creek, Nett Lake
and, Lake Vermilion areas.
* WHEN...Until 9 AM CDT this morning.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
